RIP MCA

Band of the Week: Grouplove

Grouplove is a band that is only about two years old and only have one album, Never Trust a Happy Song. However, this album is brilliant, producing some of their best tracks, such as Itchin' on a Photograph, Tongue Tied, Lovely Cup, Slow, and the song featured in the video below, Colours. I saw them live back in March when they opened for Young the Giant. Both bands put on a great show, and if you get the chance, you should definitely get tickets.

Band of the Week: Young the Giant

I have not posted anything on this site in about 2 months. No worries however, because from here on out this site will be updated regularly. Anyway, this week's Band of the Week is Young the Giant. I saw them perform last month at the Electric Factory. Grouplove opened for them and both bands put on a great show. Young the Giant also announced that their second album would be coming out in the spring of next year. They performed a few new songs at the gig, including one song entitled "Camera". If the rest of the songs are as good as the new songs performed at the gig, we can expect an album that is just as good as their first album, the self titled LP "Young the Giant". Young the Giant ended their performance with the song below, "My Body".

My Body Tells Me No
But I Won't Quit
'Cause I Want More
'Cause I Want More

Band of the Week: The Boxer Rebellion

Since their formation in 2001, The Boxer Rebellion have released three studio albums: Exits, Union, The Cold Still. They have produced many great tracks, including my personal favorites Evacuate, Lay Me Down, We Have This Place Surrounded, Step Out of the Car, and the track below Semi-Automatic. If you live in the North America, they will begin a 24 show tour in the beginning of April, so if you can get tickets, you will definitely want to go see them.

Band of the Week: White Lies

Hello, everyone. Since I only know about 5 people who listen to good music, I decided to create a place where you can discover new bands and rediscover bands that you may not have listened to in a while. Each week I will update the blog with a band of the week, and I can see no better first "Band of the Week" than White Lies. This three-piece from Ealing, London have released two stunning albums since they changed their name from Fear of Flying in 2007. I can listen to every track from both albums for hours and hours. This track, To Lose My Life, is off their first album, also titled To Lose My Life. If you like this track, you will want to listen to the rest of their songs, which are all equally as good, if not better.

Let's Grow Old Together,
And Die At The Same Time
